# Black Director’s Chair, 18″ Classic Height
I just got my hands on this Black Director’s Chair and honestly, I’m pretty impressed. It’s got that classic 18″ seat height which turned out to be perfect for my height (I’m 5’8″ if that helps anyone). What really sold me was that it came ready to go – no assembly whatsoever! After dealing with that nightmare IKEA bookshelf last month, this was such a relief.
The whole folding thing is actually super convenient. I’ve been moving it between my home office and the patio depending on my mood. Last weekend, I even tossed it in my trunk for my nephew’s soccer game – way better than those flimsy camping chairs that always seem to break on me.
The chair’s made of solid wood, which honestly surprised me for the price point. It feels sturdy – not like those cheap plastic things that wobble when you sit down. It holds up to 250 pounds, which is plenty for me and most of my friends. The built-in armrests are kind of a game-changer too. I worked from this chair for like 3 hours yesterday and didn’t get that usual back pain I get from my regular desk chair.
Size-wise, it’s about 24.5″ wide, 17.25″ deep, and stands around 37.75″ high. The seat is at that 18″ height I mentioned, which works perfectly with my dining table when I have extra guests over. The canvas seat and back are pretty comfy – not like sitting on a cloud or anything, but definitely not bad at all. Plus, I spilled some coffee on it the other day and it wiped right off, so that’s a win in my book.
It’s only like 10 pounds too, which makes it super easy to move around. I’m not exactly a bodybuilder, so I appreciate that! The black finish goes with pretty much everything in my house – I was worried it might clash with my more rustic furniture, but it actually looks great. When folded up, it takes up barely any space – I’ve been storing it behind my couch when not in use.
I’ve found myself using it in all sorts of situations. When my parents visited, it gave us that extra seating we needed. I took it to my friend’s barbecue last month (mine was nicer than any chair he had, to be fair). It would be perfect for outdoor events or even work functions – my sister who’s a teacher mentioned her school could use these for their drama productions.
The canvas seems pretty weather-resistant, though I wouldn’t leave it out in the rain for days on end. I sat in it for a movie marathon (all three Lord of the Rings, extended editions!) and was surprised how comfortable it stayed. My old desk chair would’ve had my back screaming after the first movie.
For anyone wondering about specs:
Material: 100% Solid Wood frame with Canvas seat
Weight: 10 Pounds (lighter than my vacuum cleaner!)
Weight Capacity: 250 Pounds
Black finish that seems pretty resistant to scratches
Folds down to about 24.5″W x 5″D x 37.75″H
To keep it nice, I just wipe the wood with a damp cloth sometimes and spot clean the canvas when needed. Overall, it’s been a pretty great addition to my place!
