So, I’ve been hunting for a comfy chair for my reading nook forever, and I kind of stumbled across this white papasan chair online. Let me tell you, it’s pretty much become my favorite spot in the house! The cushion is super thick (4.5 inches) and has this amazing Sherpa-style top that feels so soft against your skin – I’ve accidentally fallen asleep in it twice already while “just resting my eyes” during a Netflix binge.
The frame seems really sturdy (it’s alloy steel with some faux wicker details), which is a relief because my last cheap chair started wobbling after like two months. This one’s holding up great so far and supports up to 250 pounds, which is plenty for me and occasionally my cat who thinks it’s her chair too.
Size-wise, it’s not bad at all – about 45 inches across and around 33.5 inches high. Fits perfectly in the corner of my living room without making the space feel cramped. To be fair, I was a bit worried it might be too bulky based on the pictures, but it’s actually a nice balance between cozy and compact.
The white cushion with the dark brown base looks way more expensive than what I paid, honestly. It gives off this casual boho vibe that works really well with my existing stuff. Assembly wasn’t a nightmare either – I managed to put it together while listening to a podcast, and I’m definitely not the handiest person.
One thing I was kind of concerned about was keeping it clean (white fabric, right?), but you can hand-wash the cushion if needed. I haven’t had to do that yet, but it’s good to know I won’t need to take it to the dry cleaner or anything complicated.
I’ve tried a bunch of chairs for my “reading corner” over the years, and this one is comfier than that IKEA egg chair I had in college by a long shot. It’s become my go-to spot for everything – reading, scrolling through social media, or just chilling with a cup of tea. My roommate keeps trying to steal it when I’m not home!
