Ashley Tartonelle Tufted Accent Chair, Taupe

I’ve got to say, I’m honestly obsessed with my new Ashley Tartonelle chair! After hunting forever for the perfect accent piece for my reading nook, I finally stumbled across this little gem. It’s this gorgeous taupe tufted chair with that kind of vintage-inspired look that just works with pretty much everything.
So when it arrived, I was pretty impressed with how solid it felt. The whole chair has this English arm style that’s super elegant without being stuffy, if that makes sense? The outside is this really nice faux leather (which, to be fair, I was initially skeptical about, but it actually looks pretty high-end). What I really love is how they did this cool inside-out design thing – the actual seat part where you sit is this soft linen-weave polyester that feels way comfier than the leather would.
The cushioning is no joke – it’s this high-density foam that doesn’t sink in too much when you sit on it. I’m always working from home these days, and I’ve spent hours in this chair without getting that achy feeling I used to get with my old IKEA piece. It honestly feels more supportive than my office chair!
Those little details really make it stand out – there’s this button tufting on the back (which my cat thankfully hasn’t discovered yet), and these nailhead trims that run along the edges. I wasn’t expecting to care about the feet, but the wooden bun feet actually give it this kind of heirloom quality that makes it look way more expensive than it was.
Size-wise, it’s pretty much perfect for my small apartment – about 31.5″ wide, 35.5″ deep, and 37″ high. The seat is around 19.5″ high which works well for me (I’m 5’7″). I was worried it might be too bulky, but it actually fits perfectly beside my bookcase. It’s rated for 250 pounds, so it feels really sturdy.
Assembly was kind of a breeze – just had to attach the legs with the included tools. Honestly took me like 15 minutes tops while I was watching Netflix.
Maintenance seems pretty straightforward too. The faux leather part you can just wipe down (which is a lifesaver with my messy niece around), and the fabric part is holding up surprisingly well to daily use. I’ve already dealt with one coffee spill – just blotted it with some mild soap and water, and you’d never know it happened.







I’ve had a lot of furniture over the years (most of it forgettable, tbh), but this Ashley chair is definitely a keeper. The taupe color is kind of perfect – not too beige, not too gray, just this nice neutral that somehow works with my eclectic decor. It’s become my go-to spot for morning coffee and evening reading, and I’ve even caught my boyfriend napping in it a couple times! For the price point, you really can’t beat the quality and style you’re getting. Definitely one of my better furniture purchases in recent memory!
