I just got my hands on the Ashley Lindyn swivel chair in gray, and honestly, I’m pretty blown away by it. When I was searching for something comfy for my living room corner, I didn’t expect to fall in love with such a statement piece!
This thing is massive – it’s like 58″ wide by 55″ deep, which is actually perfect for my space. I’m the type who loves to curl up with a book or binge-watch shows, and this chair is basically made for that lifestyle. The seat is super deep (about 35″) so I can literally tuck my feet under me and get cozy. It sits about 21″ off the ground which works well with my other furniture.
The material is this really soft polyester cord fabric that feels way more expensive than it is. It’s kind of similar to my friend’s West Elm chair but, to be fair, this one feels sturdier. The frame is made from engineered and solid wood, which explains why it doesn’t wobble at all when I plop down on it.
What sold me was definitely the swivel feature – it rotates a full 360 degrees without making any weird noises! I can turn to talk to someone in the kitchen or swing around to see the TV without getting up. The chair actually came with two matching pillows, which was a nice surprise since I didn’t read that part of the description before ordering.
The gray color is pretty versatile – not too light to show stains (important since my cat thinks everything is her bed) but not so dark that it makes my room feel smaller. I was worried about getting it through my apartment door, but it fit through just fine since my doorway is about 33 inches.
Assembly was honestly the best part – there wasn’t any! It came fully assembled which saved me from my usual furniture-building meltdowns. The chair supports up to 250 pounds, which is plenty for me and occasionally my boyfriend when we’re fighting over who gets the “good seat.”
Cleaning seems pretty straightforward – just spot clean with a damp cloth. I’ve already had to wipe off some coffee (my bad) and it came right off without leaving a mark.
If you’re looking for something that’s both a functional seat and kind of a showpiece, this might be it. It’s definitely pricier than the IKEA chair I was considering, but the quality difference is night and day.
