I finally caved and got the Sdorens Adult Bean Bag Chair after my old armchair gave up on me, and honestly? I’m kinda mad I didn’t do this sooner! The teddy velvet fabric is ridiculously soft – like, way softer than I expected. Sometimes product descriptions exaggerate, but this one’s pretty spot on. I’ve been working from home lately and needed something comfy but supportive, and the high-resilience foam in this thing is no joke. Three weeks in and it hasn’t gotten all saggy or flat like my last cheap floor cushion.
The ergonomic design thing they mention isn’t just marketing fluff either. My back used to kill me after a few hours in my office chair, but this bean bag actually supports my lower back pretty well. It’s got this curve that just fits right into your spine – not in a weird way, but in that “oh, that’s actually comfortable” kind of way. I’ve fallen asleep in it twice now while watching Netflix, which I’m taking as a good sign!
One thing I was worried about was it sliding around on my hardwood floors (my last floor chair was basically a skating rink), but they weren’t kidding about the non-slip bottom. It stays put even when I’m fidgeting or changing positions, which happens a lot when I’m gaming. And my floors are totally fine – no scratches or marks.
The no-assembly part was such a relief. I’m terrible with instructions and I’ve got a graveyard of half-assembled IKEA furniture to prove it. This thing just needed to be unpacked and left alone for about a day and a half to fully expand. Mine took closer to the full 48 hours to look right, but I was too impatient and sat in it after like 36 hours anyway, lol.
Size-wise, it’s perfect for my small apartment. The measurements (34.25″D x 39.76″W x 28.35″H) don’t sound that impressive on paper, but it’s actually pretty roomy when you’re sitting in it. I’m 5’10” and fit comfortably with plenty of space. It’s also super light at 26.4 pounds, so I can drag it from my living room to my bedroom without breaking a sweat.
The beige color is more versatile than I thought it would be. I was worried it might look boring, but the subtle striped pattern gives it a bit of character, and it goes with pretty much everything in my apartment. The teddy velvet fabric is definitely a step up from the typical bean bag material – it feels more grown-up, if that makes sense? My cat’s already claimed it as her second bed, but thankfully, cat hair brushes off it pretty easily.
The matching ottoman is a nice bonus – I use it as a footrest most of the time, but it’s also handy as an extra seat when my buddy came over to watch the game. To be fair, I didn’t even realize it came with an ottoman until it arrived, so that was a cool surprise.
All in all, for the price, this chair’s been a solid investment. Not as cheap as some floor cushions, but definitely comfier than my old couch that cost three times as much. It’s become my go-to spot for everything – working, gaming, reading, napping – you name it. If you’ve got a small space or just want something different from traditional furniture, it’s worth checking out.
