6-Piece Dining Set: Wood Table, 4 Chairs, Cushioned Bench, Natural Cherry

I finally bit the bullet and upgraded our old dining set, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier with this 6-piece natural cherry dining set! We’ve been using it for about a month now, and it’s pretty much transformed our entire dining area.
The rustic wood table has this country-chic vibe that works perfectly with our semi-modern apartment. It’s about 60 inches long by 36 inches wide, which is actually bigger than I expected but fits our space really well. The natural cherry finish is gorgeous in person – kind of warm and inviting, not too dark or light.
Setting it up wasn’t bad at all. My husband and I knocked it out in maybe 40 minutes (not the 30 the description claimed, but who’s counting?). Everything came in two boxes, and thankfully all the tools were included because I’m always losing those little Allen wrenches.
The four chairs are surprisingly comfortable for wooden dining chairs! They’ve got these gray burlap cushions that are way more padded than they look in the pictures. The X-style backs are nice too – my back doesn’t get all sweaty when we’re having longer dinners with friends. My mother-in-law, who’s always complaining about uncomfortable seating, actually complimented them, which is basically a miracle.
To be fair, the cushioned bench is probably my favorite part. It fits perfectly along one side of the table and can definitely fit two adults comfortably (or three kids, as we discovered during my nephew’s birthday). It’s about 38 inches long, so it’s not huge, but it’s perfect for our needs and makes the whole setup feel more casual and welcoming than our old formal dining set.
The whole thing feels really solid too. The table is made with this thick MDF veneer with solid rubber wood legs that don’t wobble at all – definitely sturdier than that IKEA table we had before. Everything can handle quite a bit of weight (the table supposedly holds 200 lbs), which is good because my husband likes to lean on it when we’re playing board games.
Maintenance has been a breeze so far. I spilled red wine the very first night (typical me!) and it wiped right up with no staining. I just run a damp cloth over everything once a week or so, and it looks good as new.
If you’ve got a bigger family or like entertaining, this set is pretty ideal. We had my parents and sister over for dinner last weekend, and everyone fit comfortably without that cramped feeling we used to have. The bench is also great for squeezing in an extra person if needed.
The only minor issue I’ve noticed is that the chairs can scratch wood floors a bit, so we added some felt pads to the legs. Other than that small fix, we’ve been super happy with it. It’s definitely an upgrade from our last dining set but didn’t break the bank like some of the sets we looked at from Pottery Barn.
