Heads up! I bought these 5-tier dog stairs last month for my senior Dachshund, Pickle, and honestly, they’ve been a game-changer for us. Just know that when they arrive, you’ll need to be patient—they come vacuum-packed and the sponge needs about 36 hours to fully expand before putting the cover on. I was kind of worried at first because they looked flat, but they fluffed up perfectly!
These CiWiVOKi stairs are pretty much perfect for small dogs and cats. Pickle’s 12 years old now and was struggling with jumping on our bed (which is about 24″ high), so these were exactly what we needed. The high-density sponge core feels surprisingly sturdy—definitely not flimsy like I expected—and they can handle up to 60 pounds, which is way more than my little guy weighs! The cover has this nice non-slip texture, and the bottom has grips too, so they don’t slide around on our hardwood floors.
What I really love is how gentle the incline is. Each step is like 4.8 inches high, which is so much easier on Pickle’s joints compared to the steeper stairs we had before. The sponge material holds up well too—we’ve been using them for a few weeks and they haven’t sagged at all. They’re also surprisingly lightweight (only about 8 pounds), so I can easily move them from the bedroom to the living room when needed.
To be fair, I was initially skeptical about whether these would be worth the money, but they’ve been fantastic for Pickle and our cat occasionally uses them too! The zipper cover is super convenient—I’ve already washed it once after Pickle had a little accident (poor guy), and it came out looking brand new.
One thing I didn’t expect was how much these stairs would blend in with our decor. The gray color is neutral enough to not stick out like a sore thumb in our bedroom, which is a nice bonus. They’re also bigger than I thought—34″ long by 16″ wide—but that actually makes them more stable.
For anyone with small breeds like Chihuahuas or Pomeranians, or older cats with arthritis (my sister’s cat uses the same stairs!), these are honestly a no-brainer. They’re particularly great if your bed or couch is around 24 inches high, which is pretty standard.
Maintenance has been easy so far—just tossed the cover in the washing machine on gentle and let it air dry. The foam part just needs a quick wipe-down occasionally or a light vacuum.
