Racing Simulator Gaming Chair with Gear Shift Mount

So I just upgraded my gaming setup with this OpenWheeler Gen3 racing chair, and honestly, I’m pretty blown away by it. I’ve been into racing games for years, but was getting tired of playing them from my regular desk chair – it just wasn’t cutting it anymore.
This thing works with basically everything I own – my PS4, old Xbox 360, and even my gaming PC. Setting it up wasn’t too bad, though I did need my roommate’s help for about 15 minutes. The frame feels really solid – it’s this carbon steel and aluminum combo that’s surprisingly lightweight (like 55 pounds) but still super sturdy when I’m in the middle of an intense Forza race.
The seat itself is covered in this polyester fabric that’s actually pretty breathable. I was worried I’d get all sweaty during long gaming sessions (I tend to get really into it!), but it’s been comfortable even after a few hours. What I really love is how adjustable everything is – you can recline the backrest, change the height, and even move the gear shifter mount to either side. I’m right-handed so I keep it on that side, but it’s nice to have options, you know?
Speaking of the gear shifter, that’s probably my favorite part. It makes the whole experience feel way more like I’m actually driving. Last weekend I was playing Gran Turismo and kind of lost track of time – ended up racing for like 3 hours straight! My old chair would have killed my back, but this one was still comfy.
The size is pretty manageable too – about 30″ x 22″ x 45″. It fits in the corner of my living room without being an eyesore. My girlfriend wasn’t thrilled when I first mentioned buying a racing simulator chair (to be fair, they can look pretty ridiculous), but even she admitted this one looks decent enough.
One thing that surprised me is how it doesn’t wobble when I’m really getting into a race. My old setup would shake like crazy whenever I made sharp turns, which was super annoying and threw off my timing. This chair stays put, which makes a huge difference in games where precision matters.
It supports up to 300 pounds too, which is nice because my buddy who’s a bigger guy can use it when he comes over without me worrying about it breaking or anything.
The only downside is that all the cool accessories are sold separately – I’m already eyeing a monitor stand to complete my setup, but my wallet needs a break first! Still, for what you get, I’d say it’s worth the investment if you’re serious about racing games.
