OK, so I just got these 2xhome Wishbone chairs a couple weeks ago, and honestly? They’re kind of amazing for what you pay. I’ve been eyeing wishbone-style chairs forever (my sister has some designer ones that cost a small fortune), but I couldn’t justify dropping that kind of cash.
These came as a set of two, which was perfect for my little breakfast nook. They’re pretty solid—each one’s about 15 pounds, which isn’t too heavy to move around but definitely substantial enough that they don’t feel cheap. The wood is really nice looking, a mix of beech, oak and some engineered wood. To be fair, at first I was a bit skeptical about the engineered parts, but you really can’t tell once they’re put together.
The black woven seat is probably my favorite part. It’s made from this papercord material that looks way more expensive than it is. It’s basically like a rattan-type weave that’s super comfortable to sit on. I was actually surprised by how breathable it is—I work from home sometimes and can sit in these for hours without that sweaty-back feeling you get with some chairs.
Size-wise, they’re about 22 inches wide and deep, and stand 30 inches tall with an 18-inch seat height. Perfect for my dining table, but I could totally see these working in a living room or even an office. The armrests have this nice curve that fits your arms really naturally when you’re sitting and chatting after dinner.
One thing that was a huge relief—they came fully assembled! I didn’t expect that at all. After my last IKEA nightmare (three hours of my life I’ll never get back), this was such a pleasant surprise. Just opened the box and they were ready to go.
Weight capacity is supposedly 250 pounds per chair, which seems about right. My brother-in-law is a pretty big guy and he sat in one without any worrying creaks or wobbles.
The chairs have this timeless look that works with practically any style. I’ve got kind of a mid-century modern thing going on, but these would fit just as well in a more Scandinavian space or even something more traditional. The finish is natural wood with some protective coating that seems pretty durable—I already spilled coffee on one and it wiped right off.
If you’re on the fence, I’d say go for it. They’re not the cheapest chairs out there, but compared to the designer versions they’re a steal, and the quality feels way better than what I expected for the price.
