So I finally upgraded from my old camp chair that’s been giving me back pain for years, and let me tell you, this REALEAD heated camping chair is honestly a game-changer. I’m kind of obsessed with how comfortable it is!
The first thing that blew me away was the dual heating zones. Like, who thinks of heating both your back AND your butt separately? That’s pretty genius. You can adjust between three heat settings (104°F, 113°F, and 122°F) depending on how freezing it is outside. The controls are super intuitive too – just long-press to turn it on/off and short-press to cycle through heat levels. I was at my kid’s soccer game last weekend when it was like 40 degrees, and I was the only parent not complaining about the cold!
One thing to note – it doesn’t come with a battery, which I was a little bummed about at first. But honestly, it’s actually better this way because you can use whatever power bank you’ve already got (as long as it’s 10,000 mAh or higher with 5V/2A output). I just use the same one I charge my phone with on camping trips.
This chair is HUGE compared to my old one – 25 inches wide by 20 inches deep. I’m not a small person, and I’ve always felt squished in regular camping chairs, but this one gives me plenty of room to shift around and get comfortable. The padding is next level too – high-density foam that doesn’t flatten out like my old cheapo chair did after a couple uses. The moon-shaped design cradles you in just the right way, and I don’t end up with that horrible posture I usually get after sitting around the campfire for hours.
I was a bit skeptical about the 400-pound weight capacity claim (not that I’m testing those limits!), but this thing is rock solid. The frame is made from alloy steel that feels way more substantial than those flimsy aluminum chairs. The fabric is that tough 600D Oxford stuff that doesn’t tear easily – my last chair ripped when I snagged it on a branch, but this one feels like it could take a beating. The powder coating on the frame means I don’t have to worry about it rusting if I accidentally leave it out overnight, which, let’s be honest, I’ve done more than once.
As for portability, it’s not the lightest chair I’ve owned at 13.5 pounds, but it’s not bad at all considering how sturdy it is. It folds up pretty compact, and the carrying bag with shoulder strap makes it easy to lug around. There’s a little battery bag that keeps your power bank secure, plus a side pocket for your phone and a cup holder that actually fits my big insulated coffee mug, which is surprisingly rare!
To be fair, I paid more for this than I’ve ever spent on a camping chair before, but after freezing my butt off at my daughter’s fall soccer tournaments last year, it’s totally worth it. It’s comfier than my couch at home sometimes, and I’ve actually brought it inside a few times when we had extra guests over for movie night!
