I finally ditched my old gaming chair for the Cohesion XP 2.1 Audio Gaming Chair, and honestly, I’m kind of kicking myself for not doing it sooner!
This chair has been pretty much a game-changer for my setup. I’ve always had decent speakers in my room, but there’s something totally different about having the audio built right into the headrest. The two 3-inch speakers pump out surprisingly clear sound – way better than I expected for something built into a chair, to be fair. During intense gaming sessions, it actually feels like I’m inside the game, which is pretty cool.
The volume control is super convenient – it’s right there where you can reach it without having to pause your game or whatever. I also love that it has headphone jacks for when my roommate is studying (or complaining about the noise, lol).
Comfort-wise, it’s definitely an upgrade from my old IKEA chair that was killing my back. The foam cushioning isn’t, like, premium luxury or anything, but it’s comfy enough that I’ve accidentally fallen asleep in it twice now while watching Netflix. The PVC material seems pretty durable too – I spilled some Coke on it last week and it wiped right off, no problem.
It’s fairly lightweight at about 25 pounds, which is nice because I tend to move my furniture around a lot. My apartment isn’t huge, so being able to easily shift it between my gaming corner and TV area is a big plus.
Size-wise, it’s pretty compact at 35″ x 22″ x 23″, which works perfectly in my small space. The weight capacity is 250 pounds, which is plenty for me, though my taller friends might find it a bit snug.
One thing I didn’t expect was how much I’d use it for non-gaming stuff. I’ve been watching movies in it, listening to music, even just chilling and scrolling through TikTok. The sound quality is honestly not bad at all for regular media consumption.
Setup was pretty straightforward, though I did have to tighten some of the screws after a few weeks of use. Not a big deal, just something to keep in mind.
For the price point, I feel like I got a solid deal. It’s not one of those super expensive racing-style gaming chairs, but it definitely gets the job done and the audio feature makes it pretty unique compared to my buddy’s chair that cost almost twice as much.
