So I finally bit the bullet and got myself that GTRACING Gaming Chair everyone’s been talking about – you know, the black one with all the adjustable parts. After my cheap office chair basically collapsed under me (not my proudest moment), I figured it was time for an upgrade.
When it arrived, I was honestly surprised by how sleek it looks in person. The black leatherette with those carbon fiber accents gives it this race-car vibe that actually doesn’t look out of place in my gaming corner. It’s kinda cool without being too “in your face” gamer-y, if that makes sense.
The comfort level is pretty solid. The seat has this thick padding that hasn’t flattened out yet (fingers crossed it stays that way), and the lumbar support is a game-changer for my terrible posture. I’ve been working from home a lot lately, and my back used to kill me by mid-afternoon, but this chair has definitely helped with that. Not saying it’s miraculous or anything, but definitely an improvement.
One thing I really appreciate is how adjustable everything is. You can recline this thing way back – like anywhere from 90 to 155 degrees. I’ve caught myself dozing off a couple times during those late-night gaming sessions when I lean it back! The height adjustment is solid too, goes from about 16 to 20 inches, which is perfect since I’m on the taller side.
The armrests are probably my favorite feature, to be honest. You can move them up, down, angled, whatever – which is great because my old chair had these fixed armrests that were always in the wrong position. The wheels roll super smooth on my hardwood floor too, without leaving any marks (which my landlord would definitely appreciate).
It feels pretty sturdy overall – supports up to 300 pounds according to the specs. The whole thing weighs about 47 pounds, so it’s substantial but I could still move it around when I rearranged my setup last weekend.
The dimensions (about 21 inches wide, 21 inches deep, and adjustable height between 49-52 inches) fit perfectly in my somewhat cramped gaming space. It’s definitely roomier than it looks – the actual seat is 20 inches wide and 18.5 inches deep, which gives me plenty of room.
Assembly wasn’t too bad either. Took me maybe 30-40 minutes, and I’m famously terrible at putting things together. The instructions were actually followable for once.
To be fair, it’s not the most breathable chair I’ve ever sat in – that faux leather can get a bit warm after a few hours. And while it’s comfier than my old chair by a mile, it’s not quite as plush as my buddy’s DXRacer that cost nearly twice as much.
All in all, for the price point, this GTRACING chair is honestly a solid buy if you’re spending long hours gaming or working. My back isn’t complaining anymore, and that alone was worth the investment.
